More about Digital Natives vs Digital Immigrants

Hi there! In my previous post I commented on Digital Natives and Digitals immigrants according to the distinction made by Marc Prensky. In this new post, taking into account that audiovisual materials are much more appealing for digital natives, I will post a video which summarizes and makes reference to what Prensky stated in his article “Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants.”
In this video you will find the definition of both concepts with their specific characteristics, and some quotations and questions that make us reflect upon the importance of technology for our digital native students.

  1. I think that Marc Prensky's article about Digital Natives and Digital Immigrats is presented in a practical and useful way with the video. I really enjoyed watching it! Besides, this phrase keeps spinning in my head: "The revolution is about how the tools are used".
It's a good reflection for us as future teachers.

  2. I like the video and the music!! haha. I think Digital Inmigrants are the ones who must adapt their lessons and activities according to the students. Considering that students nowadays are familiar with technology and use it to have fun, play and investigate; teachers must take advantage of that and implement technology in the EFL classroom. It would be more appealing and students will be definitely eager to learn.
